1% FOR THE PLANET
We are donating 1% of our revenue to planting trees in a rural community called Fondwa in Haiti where there has been a micro-economy that has facilitated agricultural and animal husbandry education for many years. One of our founders would travel to this community as a child, so rather than donating to a subsidiary fund that we had no connection to and possibly donating to inefficient organizations, we are putting our money into something we have personal experience with.
Haiti experienced intense deforestation over the last 50 years, to the extent that now when you fly over the island there is a clear line where the densely forested landscape of the Dominican Republic is contrasted with the brown depleted mountains of Haiti.
We hope to plant trees that will not only help save the mountaintops of Haiti where they are loosing a foot every year, but also benefit the individuals of this community that work to improve conditions for everyone in the region daily.

RESALE & CIRCULARITY
We are confident that if treated well, your bag can be with you for a long time, we know this because many sell for 80% of the original price. When you are ready to move on from your ISM Backpack, you can resell it in Circular-ISM, our official Resale Marketplace, powered by Decom.
Circular-ISM offers our customers a more competitive marketplace to sell their pre-loved bags and contribute to the circular economy. We give our customers 95% commission on each bag sale, giving each bag a new life. For buyers, you can be assured you are buying a real ISM Backpack and each bag purchased on our marketplace is also backed by our limited lifetime warranty.

WASTE REDUCTION
In an effort to move away from the waste economy, we are attempting to generate a more circular model. We want to offer repair as an option rather than the model of replacing goods. After numerous requests from customers who don't want to give up their bag, but have experienced an unfortunate event that damaged their bag, we are offering a repair program.
Customers can either drop off their bag at our location in Los Angeles, send the bag in to be repaired, or take it to a local seamstress approved by our company in your city and we will pay for the repair of damaged zippers or straps. These have always been our two guarantees as the integrity of the ISM bag's leather and nylon depend on the owner's level of care, but we believe that the integrity of functioning zippers and straps should never be compromised.
If you have questions about how to recycle or resell one of our products please reach out to carry@ismbags.com
